S.D. Professionals Congratulates Dolly Parton and Duran Duran on Their Induction Into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

Congratulations are in order for Dolly Parton and Duran Duran, who were among the 2022 inductees into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in a ceremony held at Microsoft Theater on November 05, 2022, in Los Angeles, California.

For more than two decades, we’ve had the honor of collaborating with the legendary Dolly Parton on a multitude of projects, from navigating the global expansion of her Imagination Library to building and managing DollyParton.com.

In one of our most recent projects, SD Pros collaborated with Abramorama on Duran Duran’s feature-length docu-concert film, "A Hollywood High," to create a successful marketing and audience engineering campaign leading up to the film’s premiere.

Duran Duran Kick off the Ceremony with a Medley of Hits

Despite years of eligibility, 2022 was the first time Duran Duran were nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. To much enthusiasm, the global hitmakers kicked off the induction ceremony with their first big hit, “Girls On Film,” leading into a medley of other favorites such as "Hungry Like the Wolf" and "Ordinary World."

During his acceptance speech, Simon LeBon read a message from former guitarist Andy Taylor, who was unable to attend due to the progression of his stage 4 cancer, which he was diagnosed with over four years ago.

“I’m so very proud of these four brothers... I’m amazed at their durability, and I’m overjoyed at accepting this award. I often doubted the day would come. I’m sure as hell glad I’m around to see the day.”

Dolly Parton Debuts New Song, "Rockin'," During Ceremony

After initially attempting to withdraw from consideration back in March, Dolly Parton ultimately agreed to accept the honor of her induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. During the ceremony, Dolly performed a special rendition of her hit song "Jolene" alongside Pink, Brandi Carlile and fellow inductees Pat Benatar, Simon LeBon of Duran Duran, Rob Halford of Judas Priest, Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart. And, to mark the occasion, Dolly debuted a new original song, "Rockin'," which she performed with her band for the night, the Zac Brown Band, saying, "If I’m going to go in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, I’m going to have to earn it!"

“I’m a rock star now!” Dolly said during her acceptance speech. “This is a very special night for me. I’m sure a lot of you knew that back when they said they were gonna put me in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, I didn’t feel like I had done enough to deserve that. And I didn’t understand at the time that it’s about more than that. But I’m just so honored and so proud to be here tonight.”

S.D. Professionals is proud to be a trusted partner to such legendary names in entertainment as Dolly Parton and Duran Duran. We congratulate these incomparable artists on this monumental milestone of their iconic careers!
