Seniors Go On Townsend Outing During August Sarah’s Fund Day

Sevier County seniors were treated to coffee, ice cream and more during monthly Sarah’s Fund Day.

The Dolly Parton My People Senior Activity Center recently held its August Sarah’s Fund Day, providing a fun-filled outing for Sevier County seniors and giving them a wonderful opportunity to connect with one another over their favorite coffee concoctions. A group of twelve ladies, three of which were newcomers, had a fabulous day together, enjoying lunch, splurging on desserts and going shopping.

Fun and Fellowship

The first stop of the day was at an Artisan Coffee Shop, where the women had their favorite fancy drinks. Then they stopped in at the Apple Valley Cafe for a wonderful lunch. After lunch they indulged in what Activities Assistant Ashley Sellars described as “the best ice cream in Townsend.” After this tasty treat, they stopped by a few of the specialty shops in Wears Valley, where they perused to their heart’s content.

These are truly special outings, proving to be a positive source of connection with others. Throughout the day, the ladies laughed and cried together, swapping stories and making memories. Not only were there three new additions to the group this month, but they also anticipate more attendees in the future. Regular attendees always look forward to their next monthly adventure, and newcomers are welcomed with open arms.
